Style Summer

Floral Wrap Dress

Can you tell that I’m a bit floral obsessed these days? After what felt like an endless winter and even longer spring this year, I can’t help but cling to the beauty and warmth of summer, and all the wonderful life it brings. Hydrangeas in particular are one of my favorite flowers that always seem to conjure images of a classic, New England summer.

This past Sunday my sister and I went out for a lazy afternoon spent taking photos, sipping on iced teas, and grabbing a late lunch from a local restaurant. When we saw this alley in between the shops in their downtown area, we knew it would be the perfect spot to capture the day.

Wrap dresses are another classic that I will never tire of; they are effortlessly chic, easy to wear, and come in a wide assortment of ever changing fits and styles. I purchased this blue and white one from Ann Taylor a few summers back, and it is still one of my favorite dresses to style during the warmer months. This year, midi and maxi wrap dresses seem to be most popular, which are both great options for work, or a night out, but I’m still partial to the mini wrap dress like this one from Abercrombie. It’s such a fun, feminine dress, and I especially love it in the dark orange floral, and the white for a classic summer look.

Sadly Ann Taylor has not made another wrap dress this year similar to mine, but below I’ve linked several similar options including this adorable midi which is now on sale at the Gap.
